"Unit is in a commercial setting, with lots of people using unit. 0 in freezer. 34 in fresh food. Customer said that no ice has been removed from unit since Last Friday and bin is a little less than half full. Tested cycle ice maker and it completed cycle without issues. Found cubes in mold not quite frozen as if it had just filled not too long before I arrived. Cubes in bin are ok. Contacted tech support and spoke to Danial. Informed him of situation and findings. He said unit should take about 3-4 days to fill ice bin up, if it is empty. Being that unit is in a commercial setting, with multiple people using machine, we cannot know how often doors are being open or how much ice is being used. Daniel said that unit is working as designed at this time but if I notice anything unusual then to replace ice maker. I informed customer that the unit appears to be working as designed but if no ice has been unit in 4 days and ice is only half full, perhaps ice maker is getting stuck at times, but there is no way for me to know this for sure. I replaced ice maker (w11700250) and informed customer that their may be no change in ice production and that unit is not designed for this environment and setting. Informed customer that if they still have issues to contact whirlpool customer service. Tested ice maker. At this time, all operations ok with no leaks detected."

Ice maker had E5 error for bad thermistor and no water in ice maker. Removed ceiling in fresh food compartment and blew through line to ice maker and it was clear. Replaced ice maker. Suspect error code caused ice maker to not fill due to bad thermistor. Coil homed out a 186 ohms which is in specifications proven by running ice maker harvesting and fill test. Turned refrigerator back to normal settings. Home owner stated ice would melt if on normal settings. Sealed up entire ice maker box and ice maker fill line to help keep freezing temperatures within the ice maker box. If this doesnt work well have to order main board for false error code reporting for ice maker part number W11224256 and stealth user interface for temperature regulation part number W11636544. Everything should be performing as designed unless boards are needed. Wont be able tell for a few days. Thank you!
