"Replaced air tower,control,compressor,and drier. Refrigerator was either undercharged or had a restriction because low side had only 3 psi standing pressure. Removed components and purged with nitrogen to ensure no blockages. Let nitrogen pressure sit at 250 psi for 15 minutes to make sure new components and evaporator wasnt leaking. Everything passed test. Vacuumed sealed system lines for about 30 minutes to make sure system is completely dry. Recharged with 47 grams of r600a refrigerant. Everythings performing as designed now."

"Original complaint is that unit is making ticking noise, and lights going out and coming back on sporadically. Customer had no complaints of temperature loss. Customer showed me picture of ice ball on freezer evaporator that a previous company took. I removed freezer evaporator and found no frost ball and evaporator is fully frosted. Contacted tech line and spoke to Jake. I informed him of situation and we were unable to recreate any issue with unit. He did not recommend replacing any parts at this time. When I was leaving home, I could hear 3 way valve struggling to go into position. I entered diagnostic and found fans no longer coming on and display is delayed while 3 way valve is still ticking. I informed customer that the issue could be from and of the electronics or fans or 3 way valve components shorting out, causing various issues. Customer has Best Buy warranty. I recommended customer have Best Buy warranty re-evaluate situation in order to resolve issue, because it doesnt appear to be an issue with the sealed system itself. Customer understands. Unit was completely dead and wouldnt power on. Removed ice machine after testing voltage to plug. Voltage was correct so I pulled it out to check if extension cord plugged into machine directly would power it on and it did. Needs an auxiliary pump. Recommended getting extended warranty from Whirlpool because this repair out of warranty at this time wouldve been over $1000 to replace this pump. Let homeowner know that its normal for the ice cubes to be wet because the compressor in these ice machines are only used to make ice and not to freeze ice. If ice isnt used for awhile its normal for cubes to shrink. The cold ice cubes and door gasket is the only thing that keeps ice machine cubes from not melting instantly but will melt eventually if not used.
